Terms of Service

By using Interstitial, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English because you should actually read them.

The service

Interstitial is a journaling application for iOS, Android, and web. We provide the software; you provide the content. Your content is yours.

Your account

You need an account to sync entries across devices. You're responsible for keeping your password safe — we can't recover it for you because it's also your encryption key. If you lose it, you lose access to entries encrypted with that key.

Subscription and billing

After your 14-day free trial, Interstitial costs $2.99 USD per month or $12 USD per year, billed through Apple, Google, or Stripe depending on where you subscribed. Subscriptions are tied to your account, not your device — subscribing on one platform unlocks the others.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancel anytime from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. For Stripe customers, full refunds are available within 7 days with no questions asked. For App Store and Play Store customers, refund policies follow the respective platform's rules.

Data portability

You can export all your entries as JSON at any time from Settings. Even after cancellation, past entries remain readable and exportable. We never hold your data hostage.

Account termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may terminate accounts for abuse, fraud, or violation of these terms, with notice where possible.

Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime for sync services. The app is fully functional offline, so temporary sync outages don't prevent you from journaling.

Limitation of liability

Interstitial is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the past 12 months.

Changes to these terms

We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. You can always delete your account and export your data if you disagree.
